Felling Male Voice Choir took part in two in two music competitions in 1993 but this time, they were close to home!
The choir was invited to take part in the Golden Jubilee of the Ryton Festival. Chris Wiltshire was adjudicating in Hong Kong so Don Halliday agreed to conduct the choir in his absence. As the choir were the only entry in their class, they agreed sing their test piece but then present a short concert programme. The adjudicator still gave honest and constructively critical comments.
On the 17th April, the choir took part in the Newcastle Festival at the City Hall with ten other choirs. Colne Valley, the ultimate winners, and Nelson Arion competed in a well organised festival. Felling were a creditable second.
