Felling Male Voice Choir held two excellent concerts during their Jubilee Year in 1970 with Keighley Vocal Union.

Keighley, a mixed voice choir from Yorkshire, had a great reputation and had been winners of Llangollen and Teesside Eisteddfodau and many British Festivals.

First concert in Newcastle during September went on well after the scheduled time due to the enthusiasm of the audience and their conductor, Jack Smith.

The second concert during October was held at St. George’s Hall, Bradford. The guest artist was the contralto, Marjorie Thomas, who was born in Sunderland, and had sung at Covent Garden and with the English Opera Group.

The audiences at both events were thrilled with the varied programmes!
