Felling Male Voice Choir were invited to star with the famous and championship, “Black Dyke Brass Band” at the start and end of 1971.
The venues were Newcastle City Hall and Sunderland Empire. The first concert was compered by world cup winner and local Jack Charlton, who was playing with Leeds United.
The choir sang “The Fighting Temeraire” and “Viva Tutti”. They were joined by the brass band on “The Battle Hymn of the Republic” and “Song of the Plains”.
The night before the Sunderland concert, the choir also performed with the “Salvation Army Band” in Newcastle City Temple.
The choir also performed a concert in the Central Methodist Church in Stanley with “Ever Ready Craghead Band”.
