Felling Male Voice Choir certainly knew how to select the top person to host a prestigious event like the “75th Anniversary Concert” in 1995.

Richard Baker (1925-2018) was one of the best known newsreaders for the BBC between the 1950’s and the early 1980’s. He was a radio presenter of classical music. Some of his television engagements included the ‘New Year’s Day concert from Vienna’, the “First and Last Nights of the Proms’ and TV commentaries on royal occasions.

He was a Trustee of the D’Oyly Carte Trust, Haddo House Hall Trust, director of Youth and Music, governor of the National Youth Orchestra, and many more positions.

A truly distinguished gentleman to host such a prestigious concert.
