Felling Male Voice Choir held a Special Concert at Stanley Civic Hall during their Jubilee Year in 1970. This was the home of their conductor, Norman Williams.
The choir’s guest was the famous brass player, Jim Shepherd, who had just won the national championship. He played some excellent cornet music to a packed audience.
The choir debut a new arrangement of the “Battle Hymn of the Republic” during the evening and it stayed in their repertoire for many years.
