Felling Male Voice Choir will be celebrating their Centenary next year, in 2020. What a journey they have come along with major successes in national competitions!
Their competitive journey started on the 13th August 1921 when they entered the first choral contest at Burnopfield Flower Show in North-West Durham. Out of 5 choirs, Felling were placed 3rd after the 26 men sang “The Martyrs of the Arena”.
The journey to Burnopfield was rather slow and challenging at 5mph by horse-drawn brakes.
The Choir also took part in contests at Beamish, Felling Flower Show and Ryton.
