Felling Male Voice Choir had certainly built some strong friendships and respect over the years.

In 1982, this lead to two excellent “Joint Concerts” being held.

In June, “The City of Coventry Brass Band” were the guests of the choir in the New Tyne Theatre in Newcastle upon Tyne. The Coventry Band were on top form and were matched in enthusiasm by the choir. The Tyne Theatre was an ideal venue for this type of concert and both the band and choir enjoyed the acoustics and performing in the old music hall and opera house.

The Assembly Rooms in Bath in October was the venue for another “Joint Concert” with the “Silver Ring Choir”. Felling were again given most of the programme, performing numbers such as “The Listeners”, “Great Things”, Beat! Beat! Drums”, “Hava Nageela”, the “Eriskay Love-lilt”, “The Caller” and “The Drunken Sailor”.

The musical director from Reading Phoenix Choir and several members were in the audience. He said he had never heard Felling sing so well. The wonderful singing of the two choirs gave enjoyment to the excellent audience.
