The “Asser Mannenkoor” arranged a special concert for Felling Male Voice Choir during their second visit to northern Holland in April 1985.

The venue was “Josephkerk” which was the largest church in Assen. Even so, patrons stood throughout the concert, and many were turned away. It was the sort of choral experience never to be forgotten.

The Choir’s President travelled down from the European Parliament in Strasbourg, the First Secretary to the British Ambassador in Amsterdam, the Chairman of Tyne and Wear, and the Chief Executive of the Province of Drenthe, joined the audience in giving Felling a magnificent reception before the programme, and two standing ovations at the end of the concert.

Felling also took part in a 3-day Military Tattoo to celebrate the fortieth liberation of Assen.
