Felling Male Voice Choir decided to break up the return journey of their February trip to Reading and Stevenage in 1992.
The party took the opportunity to stop at a lonely pub somewhere on the A1 in Yorkshire. Up till then it had been entertaining ‘one man and his dog’. Suddenly over sixty thirsty choristers and their wives descended like a “football crowd” and the place became alive. Once happily supplied with liquid refreshment and crisps, the impromptu singing started and became more adventurous as time past!
