1983 was a sad year for Felling Male Voice Choir. Norman Williams the acclaimed conductor and musical director resigned after a disagreement with the choir committee over the constitution.

The professional that he was did not stop him honouring a pre-arranged concert on the following night. The venue was Peterlee and a concert with the Shotton Hall Singers.

The choir lost a good teacher, a fine musician and an excellent conductor.
