“Music”, written by John Miles, has been performed for many years by Felling Male Voice Choir as their signature song.

John Miles, born in Hebburn, was in the audience of the choir’s Annual Concert in 1988. He had given the choir permission to use his composition and came along to hear the arrangement made of his piece by Chris Wiltshire.

The guest artists this year at the concert were “The Fairer Sax”. The saxophone quartet had exceptional talent, style and versatility. They played a wide range of music from the 16th Century to the present day, both classical and popular.

Some of the choir’s programme included “Ave Verum” and “Gloria” by Mozart, “John Jayberd of Diss” by Vaughan Williams, the “Marching Song” by Seiber and “Country Wedding” by Dodgson.

The concert ended with an arrangement of some of the songs of George Gershwin by Chris Wiltshire.
