Felling Male Voice Choir travelled to Laubuseschbach in West Germany in May 1987 to take part in a music contest.
Although Felling sang well in the morning, the judges didn’t think that their performance warranted the winner’s enclosure.
In the evening, it was very different in the beer tent. The audience was very enthusiastic.
The choir were sitting next to a colourful and vociferous choir from Ghana. They were not included on the programme! Their protest was novel. They decided that they were going to sing anyway and gave a rendition of one of their best songs (A War Song!). They then departed with a dignity well befitting a Warrior Nation!
