The event was a “Choral Spectacular” at the Dolphin Centre in Darlington. Other male voice choirs included Annfield Plain, Ashington, Backworth, Hetton Lyons, the Melton Singers, Newcastle Chorus, Royal British Legion, Victoria MVC and Wolsingham Steelworks MVC.

There were also six “Mixed Voice” and three “Ladies” Choirs from the North East of England.

The “Male Voice” Choirs sang favourites including “Fishermen of England”, “March of the Peers”, “In St. Paul’s” and “Morte Christe”.

The concert ended with a massed chorus singing of “Zadok the Priest”, which was conducted by Norman Williams, the President of the NAC.
