Felling Male Voice Choir were not just focussing on their Anniversary Concert at Newcastle City Hall or their tour to Gloucester in South West England in 1995. They also took part in the Llangollen International Music Festival.

The year started with a concert with Felling G & S choir, followed by a trip to Castleford. After the ‘Anniversary Concert’ in May, the choir were singing in Gosforth and then Gateshead Civic Centre.

In June, they had a concert at St. Mary’s Church in Heworth, followed by a joint concert with ‘The Wirral Singers’. They also sang the National Anthems when England played Western Samoa at Rugby at Gateshead Stadium. Upon their return from Llangollen, the choir performed an ‘open-air concert’ in Felling Park.

September was the month for celebration with a birthday party with Patrons on the 22nd, followed by an Anniversary Dinner at the Civic Centre on Saturday, the 30th.

On the 1st October, there was a Service of Celebration at St. Mark’s Church in Gateshead. This was followed by a concert at St. Patrick’s RC Church in Felling on the 6th October. The month was brought to a close with a concert on the 28th at Guisborough Methodist Church.

The choir performed at Gateshead Dryden Centre on the 4th November with the Ever Ready Band.

The year was brought to a fitting end with ‘A Community Carol Concert’ with The Salvation Army at The New Tyne Theatre in Newcastle. They also performed a Christmas Carol Service at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Newcastle.

Not a bad way to celebrate 75 years entertaining audiences in the North of England, the UK and overseas.
