Felling Male Voice Choir certainly put in a brilliant performance last night at The Benton Ale House. But what about the reception for the soloists!

You will probably not hear a better rendition of the famous “Blaydon Races” than that given last night by Ted Marley and the choir.

And “The Great Longbenton Leek” certainly came home thanks to Mick McCabe. The song made famous by Graeme Danby and written by Eric Boswell. Mick actually featured on a number of songs on the album “Archive Songs of the North” featuring Eric Boswell’s music.

Somebody said on the night “I thought that was Don Estelle singing!” No it wasn’t, it was baritone Ken Dixon doing his valentine rendition of “Till”.

And not to forget Mike Scott’s solo part in the final encore of “Bobby Shafto”.
