Felling Male Voice Choir were back on the Music Festival campaign in 1978.

The choir decided to go back to Blackpool Music Festival but the format had changed slightly. In the choral competition, it was now an out-right competition in the afternoon with one test piece and one choice from the choir.

And guess what, Felling came out on top again by 3 points. This was the choir’s 19th success at Blackpool. Since Norman Williams was appointed as Conductor, the choir had won 10 times out of 11 visits, and the other time they were second.

In July, the choir took part in the Cleveland International Eisteddfod. They were placed joint second with Teesside Male Voice Choir, behind a choir from Bulgaria.
