Hello and welcome to our website. I hope you find just what you’re looking for here; if you don’t please use the contact information to get in touch; we’d be delighted to hear from you.
We’ve had a quiet Spring this year but things really heat up in June with a visit to our friends in Trelawnyd followed by a concert at St John Lee near Hexham and a concert with Newcastle Concert Band at St George’s Jesmond. These concerts will be followed by a visit from Hackness Ladies Choir from Scarborough to sing in a joint concert with us in July.
The choir’s focus recently has been on learning new pieces for our repertoire with Billy Joel’s ‘And So It Goes’ and an arrangement Eric Boswell songs in a Tyneside Medley an amongst others.
The other major focus is looking for new singers to join our ranks. The choir is always open to new members and anyone interested will find a warm welcome and a repertoire that has something for every taste in music. Our ambition is to rebuild the choir from its current healthy membership to more than eighty in time for the choir’s centenary in 2020 @choirfelling #100menasinging. We’ve welcomed four new members so far this year and our target is another eight by December – so come and join us.
For the interested but uncertain let me say this; you don’t need to be able to read music you only need enthusiasm and an enjoyment of singing. And, remember, singing in a choir is not like singing solo, you don’t need to be Pavarotti. There’s no audition and you’ll get all the support and help you want to settle in. Come along to a Friday rehearsal, 7pm at Felling Methodist Church Hall, Coldwell Street, NE10 9HH
